Published new details of the crime in Zajecar - autopsy results

The autopsy of the police officer Ivan Djurdjevac (28), who was killed in the bloodbath that took place on Monday around 10 pm in Zajecar, when Dusan Zagorac, after killing his neighbor and then himself, committed suicide, has been completed, and according to unofficial information from the interlocutor from the investigation of this case, a young MIA member was hit by one shot.

The autopsy showed that Ivan Djurdjevac was killed by a single shot from a pistol that Dusan Zagorac illegally possessed. A bullet hit him in the chest - it was said.

The murder of the policeman took place on the staircase in the entrance to 7. September Street, where the killer and his first victim, neighbor Vera Djukic, lived.

- Neighbors called the police because shots were heard. D. Z. first killed the neighbor, then he tried to leave the apartment and ran into the police and fired a shot. Then Ivan Durdjevac was killed. He then went to the attic and shot himself - said the interlocutor.

A gold medal for bravery was posthumously awarded to Ivan Djurdjevac

A member of the Intervention Patrol was killed on duty on March 28th. Ivan was posthumously awarded a special medal for his bravery by the Serbian Police Union at the beginning of June, and then by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandar Vulin, at a ceremony marking Ministry and Police Day.

His father Bozidar received the gold medal for bravery. He was his role model. That's why Ivan's wish since childhood was to be a policeman, reveals his colleague and friend, Zeljko Popovic.

Officers of the Police Department in Zaječar, colleagues of the tragically killed Ivan, spoke about him, summarizing a young life unanimously: positive attitude, smiling, brave, destined for police work.
