Intervention Unit 92

Cruisers 92 - An Elite Unit of the Belgrade Police

Intervention Unit 92 is an elite unit of the Belgrade police specialized in the direct fight against the most serious forms of crime.

The unit was formed in 1992 on the model of SWAT teams in the United States. They cruise the streets 24 hours a day and are the most agile and most operational police unit. Their regular duties include arresting armed robbers, murderers, rapists, finding wanted criminals, raids and assisting in arrests.

Members of Intervention Unit 92 are taking part in the arrest, by providing assistance to the Criminalistic Police (UKP), of drug trafficking suspects.

An Elite Unit 92 had NAVAK training, so-called driving training.

Intervention Unit 92 is a designated law enforcement team whose members are recruited, selected, trained, equipped and assigned to resolve critical incidents involving a threat to public safety which would otherwise exceed the capabilities of traditional law enforcement first responders and/or investigative units.
