Police officer Goran Petrović (42) died this morning around 05:30 in a traffic accident near Mladenovac, near the village of Kovacevac.
The police said that the killed policeman was a member of the Ministry of the Interior for over 20 years, that he participated in the war conflicts in Kosovo and Metohija in 1999, and that he was decorated by former Minister Vlajko Stojiljković for courage and participation in the war.
Petrovic worked at the Mladenovac police station as the head of the sector. He had a wife and two girls.
8th November 2016. On Sunday, November 6, 2016 a memorial indoor soccer tournament was played in Mladenovac in honor of the tragically injured colleague and member of the Independent Police Union, Goran Petrovic. On behalf of the IPU tournament, the chairman Velimir Lukic, the member of the presidency Srdjan Jovanovic, the president of SG (Union Group) Mladenovac Zeljko Maksimovic, the management of KC (Coordination Center) Belgrade and numerous colleagues and friends of Goran Petrovic attended. On behalf of the Independent Police Union, Lukic handed the cups to Goran Petrovic's wife and daughters.
