The Sex Offender and Crimes against Minors Registry program is statutorily provided through Chapter 9, of Title 9.1 of the Code of Virginia.
The Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website is controlled by the United States Department of Justice. It is a coordinated, cooperative effort between jurisdictions in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, District of Columbia, and participating tribes with the Federal Government.
The National Sex Offender Registry is operated by Family WatchDog, which is a private organization. There are several useful links on this site. The site will provide you with a maponce you enter an address and will list the offenders in the area.
